Sigh. Flyers lose again.

Ok, I’m calling it now…

May 13, 2008 Posted by Sports Collectibles

I think we are going to get to see a Bryant v. James extravaganza!  Ok, so the Lakers lost again to the Jazz, but they still have quite a chance!  Since the Cavs beat the Celtics…let’s just say this is going to get interesting!  I would love to see a Lakers v. Cavaliers series.  Can you imagine the scores?  And the dunks?  Yeah, a dream come true.  If the the Jazz and the Celtics don’t screw it up.  You can (and should) support your favorite team with NBA merchandise!  It does more good for the team’s morale to know the fans are cheering them on than you can imagine.  The players need the fans!

As for baseball…things are heating up.  The standings show a whole bunch of teams on the same page.  Which, as you know, can make for a very exciting season!  Of course, I’m still cheering for the Phillies.  Philadelphia has to produce at least ONE team that will win SOMETHING.  I mean, come on!  But, they’ve lost the last two games and I am irked.  Get your act together guys!  Sheesh.  I was so excited that they were doing well, I went and got a MLB grill cover for my upcoming BBQ.  They better not fail me now!

Also, what’s up with the Flyers?  I am not really a hockey fan, but I am a Philly fan.  So, what’s up guys?  You gonna let the Penguins beat you?  Come on!

It’s about time…

May 8, 2008 Posted by Sports Collectibles

So, it’s finally official - Kobe Bryant is this year’s MVP.  It’s about time.  The guy has been ridiculously amazing his whole career….and now, finally, got the MVP.  I wonder if it has anything to do with the Lakers’ winning streak in the Playoffs.  Or maybe those 49 points he scored in one game.  Or maybe because he is just so darn likeable?  Get your LA Lakers neon sign to show your team spirit!

Also, um, the Phillies?  They are kicking some butt.  I can’t remember the last season they started off so incredibly well.  It just goes to show you…you gotta support your team!  Whether you go to games or watch from home, you have to show off your team spirit with sports logo merchandise!

Speaking of supporting your team…have you thought about the great grilling weather this summer?  What is better than hanging out with your friends, watching the game and grilling up some tasty food on the grill?  Yeah, nothing.  So, why not have a game day party in style, while supporting your favorite team?  Get MLB grilling accessories for your next party!

Talk about a busy weekend…

May 5, 2008 Posted by Sports Collectibles

So  much happened this weekend in sports!  In the NBA, the Celtics finally beat the Hawks - it took all seven games, but the Celtics advance to round two of the Playoffs.  The Hawks put up a fight, but were beaten by a double digit lead.  Also, in other NBA news (not that it is really news) but Kobe is a beast on the court.  He led the Lakers to a victory over the Jazz with an astounding 39 points.  The NBA Playoffs are heating up and look to be exciting!

In MLB news, there were some killer games this weekend.  Like, how about the overtime win by the Phillies against the Giants?  Tenth inning, two outs, Utley on base….and Burrell slams a home run!  That was awesome.  Pat Burrell has been impressive this season so far - I hope he keeps it up!

As for hockey…talk about a long game.  The Stars game went into FOUR overtime periods and they finally scored to win the game.  Wow!  Plus, the battle for PA will begin when the Penguins take on the Flyers.  Pittsburgh has been a force to be reckoned with and the Flyers are no slouchers either.  Those games are gonna rule!

Sports are heating up, just like the weather (finally!) is so keep watching and cheering!  Get the coolest sports merchandise with your favorite team’s logo at the Sports Collectibles Store!  Show who you are cheering for with NHL tire covers for your jeep or SUV.   Throw the best game day party with our MLB team logo BBQ sets!

I guess a Boo! is in order…

May 2, 2008 Posted by Sports Collectibles

But, even though I am a Philly fan…I just can’t do it.  The Sixers got further than I ever could have imagined they would have, especially going off of their regular season.  Oh well.  But, the Flyers are still winning and so are the Phillies!  The Eagles are looking good for next season, what with an actual wide receiver and all.  Come on Philly!  Don’t let me down…again!

The first round of the NBA playoffs is wrapping up and the Western conference is looking pretty intense.  Cleveland and Washington are 3-2, Houston and Utah are 2-3 and the Lakers and Pistons are moving on.  The Lakers were just sick in the first round, but they have Kobe.  What was that about 49 points?  And what happened to the Celtics?  They actually had a great record coming into the first round, and they are now 3-2 with the Hawks.  Who could have guessed that?  Not me, that’s for sure.

There are some deciding games on tonight and tomorrow…so watch and cheer your team on!  While you are at it, you should probably get some awesome sports logo merchandise.  We have NBA BBQ accessories that show everyone who you are cheering for at the Sports Collectibles Store!

Tied in Knots

April 29, 2008 Posted by Sports Collectibles

Well, not really.  The NBA Playoffs are exciting and there are some interesting standings that no one (well, at least not I) expected.  The Sixers and the Pistons are 2-2, as are the Celtics and the Hawks.  The Cavaliers are up 2 games on the Wizards and the Hornets are also up 2 on the Mavericks.  The Lakers swept the Nuggets (who would have thought) and the Magic are killing the Raptors by 3 games.  The Spurs are housing the Suns, though the Suns are trying to come back and avoided the sweep.  The Jazz are up by 3 against the Rockets due to their amazing ball handling.

I, for one, can’t wait to see the Sixers game tonight.  For everyone saying that Philly was going to be swept…haha!  They just keep running and getting fast break points that the Pistons are having trouble stopping.

Come check out our new sports merchandise!  For those of you in warmer climates, get your grill on with these NBA grilling apron sets!

Kobe’s On Fire!

April 24, 2008 Posted by Sports Collectibles

Ok, so I was tired last night and couldn’t stay awake for the whole Lakers v Nuggets game.  But, when I went to sleep, Kobe was at 39 points.  I wake up find out he scored 49 points!  All I can say is WOW.  I think his record is 50 points in a playoff game.  Even 39 points is crazy, but 49?  Aaaaaa!  Needless to say…the Lakers won by 122-107.  Wow, wow, wow.

In other sports news…the NFL draft is on Saturday and Sunday!  Now, from all the rumors I’ve been hearing there will be A LOT of trading going on.  I mean, just the Eagles are signing and resigning, trading Lito Sheppard, and I’m sure there will be some bartering going on.  It’s going to be an interesting weekend for football!

The NHL is actually making headlines, even in Philly!  Ok, I know there are plenty of people who read this blog who aren’t Philly fans, but bear with me.  It’s been a long time since our teams are actually winning.  The Philly’s are doing better than they were last year at this time, the Flyers are on the map for once, and the Sixers…well, let’s just say I’m amazed they are in the playoffs.  If they keep playing like they played last night…they won’t be there for long.  Now, all the Eagles have to do is get a GOOD WIDE RECEIVER and WIN.  Then, at last, I will be happy.

Check out all the cool new sports logo merchandise we’ve added to The Sports Collectibles Store.  Notably, the NFL leather steering wheel covers and for all you hockey fans, the NHL spare tire covers!

The Sixers!!!!

April 21, 2008 Posted by Sports Collectibles

Ok, so I wasn’t around to watch the game, but saw the news on ESPN.  Holy crappola batman!  They actually beat the Pistons.  I almost feel badly for Detroit.  If the Sixers weren’t my home team, I probably would feel badly for Detroit.  I mean, they got beat by a team with a LOSING record.  Don’t get me wrong, I love Philly and all…but do they belong in the Playoffs?  Do any of the Eastern conference teams belong in the Playoffs with the exception of the Celtics? (They totally deserve to be there)  It all seems to skewed to me.

I forget myself.  Some highlights are in order!

I think everyone in Philly needs to personally thank the Andre’s for putting forth a huge effort in this win against Detroit.  Andre Miller and Andre Iguodala have proven themselves to be reliable, strong and determined players.  Iguodala snagged the rebound that essentially ended the game with free throws.  Andre Miller seems to have found his place as Philly’s point guard.  He consistently scores solid points, and his 20 points yesterday certainly helped them with the win.

Can’t wait until Wednesday night!  And don’t worry, I won’t always write about the Sixers.  Unless they sweep Detroit.  Then, that is ALL I will talk about.

Get into the excitement with our NBA neon signs!  Don’t forget to check out our sports merchandise!

It’s a MLB explosion!

April 14, 2008 Posted by Sports Collectibles

Not just in our store, but in the standings as well.  The baseball season started off with a bang!  Teams are clammering for a top spot early on, while some supposed favorites are left behind.  Like the Rockies.  Who would have thought they would be doing THIS badly so early on?  I mean, they were in the World Series last year!  There are some other surprises and fake outs (see Philadelphia) that have everyone on the edge of their seat.

The Blue Jays are coming out strong, but are tied with a bird of a different feather, the Orioles.  I cannot wait to see how the American East plays out.  Should prove to be extremely competitive when you throw Boston in there.  Kansas City is proving to be quite a surprise.  How long has it been since the Royals have kicked some butt?  Seriously?  The White Sox are incredibly impressive, holding the best record in the American league so far.

Then we look at the National league and wow!  Are there some teams plowing ahead here or what?!  The Marlins, THE MARLINS, of all teams are doing pretty darn well.  Philly is right behind them in the East, while both teams are being blown away by the Diamondbacks.  9 and 3?  Are you kidding?  The Cardinals are right behind the Diamondbacks with 9 and 4 and Milwaukee isn’t too far behind.  Talk about a close race early on.

To celebrate the excitement in MLB, we are adding tons of baseball merchandise.  All of your favorite teams are available and we guarantee the best price around.  Come check out our new MLB Rear Window Films and other team logo collectibles!
